Vegetable Plant - Sweet Potato 'Beauregard'

"Suttons very kindly sent me some sweet potato plants in early spring of 2011. I potted them up into individual 3 litre pots and grew them on in a heated greenhouse, then planted them through some weed control fabric in an unheated greenhouse in June (I’d heard that by preventing the meandering stems from layering themselves as they grew you’d get fewer but larger tubers). The plants were kept well watered all summer and come October, I had a great harvest – at least four very good-sized tubers per plant – I’d certainly grow them again!"

Suttons Grafted Vegetable Plants are good for early crops

"We found them (Suttons Grafted Vegetables Plants) to be especially good for providing early crops for harvesting before our own seed-raised plants came into production. Of course they also  went on to produce good harvests through the summer and we found cucumber 'Passandra' and tomato 'Dasher' to be particularly fruitful. They are great for beginners, too, since these ready-grown plants remove the risk of losses sometimes involved in sowing seeds early if you can't provide them with the right conditions."

Joe Maiden compares Suttons Grafted Plants with seed raised plantsSuttons Grafted Tomato Plants were exceptional!

"The rapid growth and truss production was exceptional; my own seed-raised tomatoes, which must have been about the same age as the grafted plants, were left well behind."

"The grafted plants were a great success, especially for earliness and flavour. The biggest success was with cucumber 'Passandra' which produced consistently good fruits and in good numbers all season."

"When I knocked them out of the pots I was amazed at the vigour of the roots; I could hardly see any compost, just a mass of healthy white roots!"
