Established in 1806, the Suttons brand has consistently led the way in supplying the very best flower and vegetable varieties of the highest quality. As a subsidiary company of Vilmorin Clause & Cie, the largest packet seed group in the world, Suttons remains one of the UK’s market leaders, with UK sales to garden centre retailers, supermarkets and DIY multiples and direct to consumers by mail-order. The Suttons brand became hugely successful internationally during the 19th and 20th centuries and, in more recent times we have built up distribution in many new markets.
Holders of the Royal Warrant - as suppliers to the Royal British households
Total commitment to both quality and service excellence have been the key to our remarkable history. We are privileged to have held the prestigious Royal Warrant since 1858 and still supply seeds to several Royal households.
Since 1922 we have been the official supplier of lawn seed to Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Club and it's world famous championship tennis courts.
Suttons also holds the ISO9001:2000 International Quality Standard across our entire business operations, as well as the Investors In People Award, the national standard for staff training, communication and involvement. We strive to run our business ever-more efficiently to meet our customer needs, and investment in staff, equipment and processes enables us to be better placed to do that.

In addition to our extensive packet seed range of c. 900 varieties, we have diversified over recent years in response to market trends and recognised consumer demand. We have successfully developed many new product ranges targeted at different market sectors and have achieved great success with our Groweasy™ seed mats and tapes, aimed at consumers with little time to spare.
Following the launch of Suttons Rapid Green Lawn Seed several years ago, the Company has achieved great success and recognition with New Product Awards from both GIMA and Glee. These focused on the innovation and consumer benefits of Rapid Green being the first ever pouch pack of lawn seed and the special blend of grasses and seed coating which enable faster germination and establishment.
